Every session follows roughly the same structure regardless of which park you book. Here's what to expect from start to finish.
Your driver arrives at your hotel or a nearby pickup point at the agreed time. Sessions typically start at 09:00, 11:00 or 13:00 depending on the park. The transfer to the park takes 20-45 minutes depending on where you're staying on the island.
At the park you'll register with your passport number for insurance purposes and step on the scales - the weight limit across all parks is 20-105kg. This takes around 10 minutes and is completely straightforward.
Your guide walks you through everything - how the harness works, the correct body position on the line, how braking works, and what the signals mean. You're fitted with a helmet, harness and gloves. There's no rushing this part. Nobody moves until everyone is comfortable.
This is what you came for. Depending on the park you'll complete between 8 and 21 lines, ranging from short warm-up runs to the flagship line at Hawk Adventure which stretches 600 metres above the jungle canopy. Guides are stationed at every platform - you're never on your own between lines.
Every park includes a complimentary drink at the end of your session. Tree Bridge has a cafe at the top with views over the Gulf of Thailand - worth taking your time over. After that your driver takes you back to your hotel or drop-off point.
Things first-timers always wish they'd known before arriving.
Between each platform you'll walk - sometimes uphill through the jungle. It's not a hike, but it's not sitting on a chairlift either. Comfortable closed-toe shoes make a real difference. Flip flops are not permitted.

Loose items including phones are not allowed on the ziplines for safety reasons. Guides at most platforms will photograph you as you come in - these shots are usually available to buy or share. Action cameras with helmet mounts are generally fine but check with your park on arrival.
Almost every session includes at least one guest who arrives nervous. The guides are used to it and genuinely good at managing anxiety on the platforms. Most people who are scared before the first line are addicted by the third. Take your time - nobody rushes you.
The minimum age is 6 years (7 at Tree Bridge) and children tend to have absolutely no fear. If you're bringing kids, Samui Zipline Lipa Noi has the most relaxed setting and the easiest difficulty level - a better starting point than the 21-line Hawk Adventure.
